I still do not understand what the purpose of this ad is. I don't know who the guy on the right is. I know it has to do with MTV, but that's all I know. I watch a lot of MTV and I still don't get this ad. I guess a person would have to know who both of these people are and how they are connected to each other.
I don't like this magazine ad. This ad would only work in a music based magazine or a history one (maybe; if that). If I don't get the purpose of an ad within a few seconds or a few minutes, and I have to keep trying to figure out what the purpose is then it's a poor ad.
My guess is that the ad has to do with new technology like new phones, or music broadcasting through the television.
At the bottom it says: On the left: Alexander Graham, inventor of the telephone
