The first thumbnail logo design is almost never the logo design that a company/person decides to go with. It takes a lot of different designs before one is chosen to be the logo. Even when a company decides on a logo they can always change it. If you click on the link below you will see an evolutional timeline of the sbc and at&t logos. AT&T logo now is not the same as back in 1983, but it is very similar with a few tweaks.
